Ring shank nails can be used with structures, e.g. nailing terminal strips, laths, formwork etc.
If the wood has not been surface-treated and will be exposed to moisture, use of FZV nails is recommended. In the case of pressure impregnated wood which is made damp, it is important to use FZV nails as the acid from the impregnation will attack the steel and cause it to corrode over time.
